Sourced from company owned Gimblett Gravels vineyards in the sub-region of Hawkes Bay. The Gravel soil consists of deep river shingle deposited over time by the Ngaruroro River as it changed course. The exposed greywacke gravel stones absorb and re-radiate heat and are extremely free draining. These are perfect conditions for growing Syrah.
Trinity Hill ‘Homage’ Hawke’s Bay Syrah 2016
Syrah from New Zealand – Hawke’s Bay
20/20 Raymond Chan Wine Reviews. October 2018
Here's what Liberty Wines (@liberty_wines) had to say on Twitter....
The first taste of 2016 Homage from Trinity Hill. Stunningly spicy with Italianate tannins. Who needs a label when the wine is this good!
Picked 8th April to 22nd April.
Alcohol 13.1 %
Titratable acidity 6.4 g/l
Residual sugar 0.46 g/l
2016 was a warm season in Hawke's Bay with a typically dry late summer and early autumn. Special canopy management
The 2016 Homage is beautifully floral with interwoven berry purity and oak sophistication. This is a darker fruited vintage with brambly, blackberry notes dominating the aromatics.
