"The High Country Pinot Noir is aged for 12 months in French barriques and has a lovely, fresh nose of red cherries and red currants with good definition and minerality. Medium-bodied on the palate, good acidity, the tannins just a little hard but it has good definition and length. Quite austere on the finish but it displays good breeding and tension." 89/100 (Above Average).

"This black label pinot oozes rich spicy oak, pipe tobacco, a hint of olives, cherries and mineral, has a stylish silky mid-palate with a lip-smacking finish and lingering aftertaste. A showy wine to impress cabernet or merlot drinkers."
Charmian Smith, Otago Daily Times, February 27, 2008.

"A robust and wellmade wine. Ripe black fruits on the nose are supported by some great toasty oak, and the palate is long and lush, with a lovely weight of cherry and dark plum fruit."
Winestate magazine, Vartietal Tasting, Nov-Dec 2007.

"A very bright, vibrant style with a charming fragrance. An appealing mix of red and black fruits. Shows great breadth of flavour."

Cuisine magazine, New Zealand Pinot Noir Tasting, November 2007.
